What you’ll receive from my mentorship:

I have 12+ years of teaching experience, and have been practicing yoga for 25+ years. One of my passions is to help yoga teachers and space holders deepen their personal practice and to develop clarity and confidence in how they hold space for their communities. I aim to do this by drawing from my experiences in offering yoga to diverse populations, social justice, and as a first generation Indian-American person.

- Support and guidance to yoga teachers and space holders in their development with their teaching and personal practice.

- Develop a cultural and decolonized lens in teaching yoga asana, pranayama, and meditation.

- Support PGM (people of the global majority) in navigating the white-centered wellness industry, and reclaiming agency and trust within.

Mentee Experiences

“1:1 mentorship sessions with Melissa have improved every aspect of my life, from my personal well being to my professional accomplishments. I leave each session energized, and with new tools in my life toolkit I can’t wait to try.

Their transmission of yogic teachings is authentic, grounded, and ripened by her own personal experience. She is uncompromising in her values, and incredibly kind. I learn so much from them, and I’m also not afraid to make a mistake. There are not a lot of environments where you feel held in the wholeness of your weird, messy, contradictory humanness without a shred of judgement. Somehow, Melissa creates that kind of space, over and over. If you have the opportunity to work with her, don’t hesitate! I feel so profoundly lucky to have their wisdom and influence in my life.” - Madeleine

“I so appreciate this time with Melissa! I like this rhythm that we’re in of making time to dive into how working towards teaching is going and how to apply Ayurvedic concepts and the Sutras to what is going on in my life. Today I’m thinking about how these apply to my personal practice and, while I may not be able to control everything in my life, these bring me back to where I can have control, and that is freeing.

Having support as I dive into teaching is crucial. I feel their consistency with me and that is helping me to not give up on myself. I am gaining more encouragement to keep going each time we meet.” - Rupa
